Final Problem and Purpose Statements

Children and Diabetes:

Problem Statement: Young children with diabetes encounter numerous problems in making food choices at school, which can cause serious health problems.

Purpose Statement: The purpose of this study was to research ways to educate diabetic students at JFK Elementary School in Daly City, in making wise food choices at school.

Vegetarian

Problem Statement: A vegetarian or vegan diet can create potential health risks.

Purpose Statement: The purpose of this study is to provide information for promoting a healthy vegetarian diet.

Children and Diabetes:

Bart Announcement:

Problem Statement: The sound system announcing stops on Bart trains is ineffective.

Purpose Statement: The purpose of this study is to create a greater competency in Bart System sound performance.

My name is Meredith MacDonald. I am a graduating senior at San Francisco State University where I am studying and earning a degree in graphic design (Visual Communications). After I graduate, I plan to get a job in Graphic Design where I plan to apply the skills I learned in school.

What inspires me the most is my passion for wanting to do art. I always enjoyed drawing and designing since I was a kid. Cooking also inspires me. I like to cook all sorts of things such as: holiday meals; soups; fish; desserts; nightly dinners; smoothies; etc. Being organized in life inspires me as well. When I am organized, I am able to work better and efficiently. Having organizational skills helps me to think logically and clearly.

Being a Christian influences me profoundly. It helps me to have the wisdom and knowledge to want to succeed in life. Some people who have also influence me throughout my life are: my mom; God; church and Christian friends. These people have helped me to become a better person in life. They helped me to change my ways of how I have been viewing life. I have grown so much over the years. I would use what I have learned in life to better succeed out there in the real world.

My vision is to get a job in Graphic Design, one that pays well so that I am able to support myself. Not only would I want to get a job, I also want to travel to certain parts of the world. This would be a great adventure for me. I would be learning different cultural experiences along the way.
